In the House Ministries exists to train, encourage and equip the body of Christ in the areas of prayer, worship, evangelism, prophetic, ministry to the poor, spiritual warfare and the creative arts. The Downtown House of Prayer is established to provide 24/7 worship and prayer for the city of Portland, Oregon. This blog is just for fun, but perhaps over time it will provide some insight and stimulate discussion surrounding the above areas.

Rhythms of Prayer

MEDITATION ON THE WORD
We are using a proven method of meditating corporately on the Word of God. This time is facilitated in such a way to allow for both individual time of meditation on scripture and then a group time of sharing revelations in order for us to gain as much as possible from our time before the Lord. All are welcome to join at any time and directions will be given as to how to participate.

Mondays:
9-11am Song of Solomon, at Calvary Temple (SE Division, across from Christian Supply)
Wednesdays:
Noon-2pm various scriptures, at Sylvan Hill (SW Humphrey, off Hwy 26)
Fridays:
2-4pm various scriptures, at Calvary Temple (SE Division)


DEVOTIONAL WORSHIP
These times are facilitated by a worship leader or worship team, creating an atmosphere of prayer in the room. Individuals may come and engage with the Lord in whatever way they desire as long as it is not a distraction to those around them. Tables are set up for art or journaling to take place and at times prayer stations are established to help direct specific prayer for individuals praying for our city. There are no open microphones during these sessions and no corporate prayer.

7-9pm at Calvary Temple (SE Division)
9-11pm at Calvary Temple (SE Division)
Fridays:
4-6pm at Calvary Temple (SE Division)
Midnight-2am at Calvary Temple (SE Division)


HARP AND BOWL PRAYER AND WORSHIP
Although our style is at times somewhat different than that of IHOP in Kansas City, the basic premise is the same: a team facilitates this time of corporate prayer and worship for the city using an antiphonal format of prayers and song. Antiphonal simply means back and forth: a prayer is spoken and a song is sung in response to the prayer. Specific scriptures are used as a springboard for the prayers. Depending on the particular session, microphones are open for those in the room to participate as well.

8-10pm at Sylvan Hill (SW Humphrey, off Hwy 26)
Fridays:
Noon-2pm, Song of Solomon at Calvary Temple (SE Division)
8-10pm at Calvary Temple (SE Division)
10pm-Midnight, Isaiah 61 and 62 at Calvary Temple (SE Division)


INTERCESSION FOR PORTLAND
Open times of facilitated prayer are available for anyone to come and participate in interceding on behalf of Portland and the Greater Metropolitan Area. Some sessions include worship, but not all.

Wednesdays:
10am-Noon at Sylvan Hill (SW Humphrey, off Hwy 26)
Fridays:
6-8pm at Calvary Temple (SE Division)


PORTLAND HEALING ROOMS
A separate ministry from the Portland International House of Prayer, but relationally connected. Prayer is offered for individuals who are in need of physical, emotional and/or spiritual healing. An introduction is given at the beginning of the time and then individuals are taken into a private room to be prayed for by several team members. Confidentiality is kept to respect those coming to receive prayer.

Tuesdays:
6pm-10pm at Calvary Temple (SE Division)
Thursdays:
6pm-10pm at Calvary Temple (SE Division)

THERE WILL BE NO SESSIONS AT CALVARY TEMPLE ON FRIDAY, MAY 12th OR FRIDAY JUNE 9th
ALL SESSIONS WILL CONTINUE UNTIL MID-JUNE....a new schedule will be posted for the summer
