When some friends of a paralytic man heard that Jesus was IN THE HOUSE, they did everything they could to get their friend into his presence. They even took off the roof of a house and lowered him in on a mat, most likely strung up with ropes of some sort. All this after fighting their way through a standing room only crowd that flooded out of that house Jesus occupied. The friends did this for two reasons. One, they had a great love for their friend. Two, they knew that only Jesus could heal him. In the House Ministries exists for two reasons. One, we love the city of Portland. Two, we know that only Jesus can heal this land.

In the House Ministries exists to train, encourage and equip the body of Christ in the areas of prayer, worship, evangelism, prophetic, ministry to the poor, spiritual warfare and the creative arts. The Downtown House of Prayer is established to provide 24/7 worship and prayer for the city of Portland, Oregon. This blog is just for fun, but perhaps over time it will provide some insight and stimulate discussion surrounding the above areas.

48hrs downtown
This weekend join us for
48hrs of prayer, worship and service
in Downtown Portland
Friday, August 19th beginning at 10am
through Sunday, August 21st at 10am
located at
PSU Campus Ministry Building
corner of SW 6th and Montgomery
The daytime hours (10am-10pm) will involve various types of service and ministry on the streets
ALL are welcome to join the teams
we will have facilitators explaining what to do and helping the teams
you can just show up at the time stated to participate
ALL TEAMS WILL LEAVE FROM THE CAMPUS MINISTRY BUILDING unless noted otherwise
sign up sheets will also be located inside of the campus ministry building during the weekend
We desire to see the corporate church united together in an effort to serve the city. This weekend our actions will become intercession as we stand on behalf of the people in downtown Portland asking God to show them the depth of His love and to give them an understanding of eternity.
Friday
10-11am Worship and Prayer (downstairs)
11am-1pm Sack Lunches to the street kids
1-5pm Worship and prayer in the Square
5-7pm Cooking with Bridgetown Ministries (small group only-filled)
7-10pm Can we Help? serving the downtown population
10pm-Midnight Worship/Prayer/Testimony
Midnight-6am Worship and prayer (upstairs)
8-10am Unplugged worship and prayer (downstairs)
10am-Noon Silent Siege in front of Lovejoy clinic--meet there
Noon-5pm Messenger Van serving food to the homeless
2-6pm Worship/prayer/Art/prophetic ministry
2-3pm Prayerwalk leaving from Mission Theatre in NW
2-4pm Prayerwalk leaving from Campus Ministry
4-6pm Prayerwalk leaving from Campus Ministry
6-8pm Prayerwalk leaving from Campus Ministry
7-10pm Foot washing and ministry on the streets
10pm-Midnight Worship/Prayer/Testimony
Midnight-6am Worship and prayer
8-10am Unplugged worship and prayer (downstairs)
10am
