About Me
- Name: portland international house of prayer
- Location: Portland, Oregon, United States
When some friends of a paralytic man heard that Jesus was IN THE HOUSE, they did everything they could to get their friend into his presence. They even took off the roof of a house and lowered him in on a mat, most likely strung up with ropes of some sort. All this after fighting their way through a standing room only crowd that flooded out of that house Jesus occupied. The friends did this for two reasons. One, they had a great love for their friend. Two, they knew that only Jesus could heal him. In the House Ministries exists for two reasons. One, we love the city of Portland. Two, we know that only Jesus can heal this land.

The Downtown House of Prayer is established to provide 24/7 worship and prayer for the city of Portland, Oregon. This blog is just for fun, but perhaps over time it will provide some insight and stimulate discussion surrounding the above areas.

MEDITATION..SORRY IT'S LATE!
14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”
16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,
17 And if children then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.
SOME OF OUR THOUGHTS FROM WEDNESDAY:
For as many as
There is no limit, He is a God that desires for none to perish
Any who are willing to submit to the Spirit will be called sons of God
are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
It is conditional to be a son
It depends on our submission, on our choice to follow
It requires something of us which is unlike a natural son…
However, is this not because of our need to be redeemed? We need to be restored and this is actually our rightful place…the way it was meant to be
Through sin we abdicated our rights as sons
Jesus gave us that right back but we must submit to the Spirit in order to live a life that was the way our lives were originally intended to be.
To live by the spirit requires that we die to the flesh, this is the place of our choosing—to fix our minds on that which is from above, to choose to allow him to transform us so that we become like him…we become like him in his death
Forgetting what is behind and pressing onward
Considering all things a loss for the sake of knowing Him
He must become our life for us to become sons, we must receive everything from Him, our very breathe.
For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”
We cry out Abba Father because we know him in this way by the Holy Spirit. When we submit to the Spirit we become dependant on Him as a father. We look to Him to provide, to direct, to counsel, to guide, to retrain us in the ways of life, to show us what to do, to give us understanding and knowledge We know that He knows so much more than we do and we want to please Him. We know He will help us when we need it. We know of His deep love for us and of His pleasure over us. We know we are secure with Him.
The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,
Bears witness
Testifies
Confirms that it is true
Shows evidence to others
Speaks out
Is a testimony
Agrees with our spirit
Proves it as so
And if children then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.
We are heirs
Partakers of the Divine nature
He has given us everything we need for life and godliness
We will receive His inheritance as our reward
He sets His glory in us, for His own name sake....we carry within us the death of Jesus so that somehow the resurrection and His life may be seen.
