In the House Ministries exists to train, encourage and equip the body of Christ in the areas of prayer, worship, evangelism, prophetic, ministry to the poor, spiritual warfare and the creative arts. The Downtown House of Prayer is established to provide 24/7 worship and prayer for the city of Portland, Oregon. This blog is just for fun, but perhaps over time it will provide some insight and stimulate discussion surrounding the above areas.

Meditations that are pleasing to God

What a wonderful time we have been having corporately meditating on the Word of God. Every time has been so sweet. Regardless of how we feel as we enter into this time, we leave with a sense of the tender presence of the Lord. I continue to be amazed as He opens up the scriptures to us. Two hours goes by so quickly and we are left just longing for more! And How the Lord delights in this time. Roy shared a scripture he had been meditating on earlier in the week about how sweet our meditations are to the LORD! God just loves this time with us!

Here is our scripture for the week:

Romans 8:10-11
10 And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.

“Religion” is the undertaker, trying to make our dead body beautiful. (The Spirit brings true beauty.)

His spirit gives life to my body
We work together and are made one
We are united in His righteousness and we cultivate and create life together

This is all tied into faith, this is the place where fear begins to die
“from first to last the just shall live by faith”
it is God’s ability to do this
Right NOW; faith is NOW
Our heart has to grow to contain this faith
There is an expansion going on as we meditate on this

glad to hear you are reading them Amber. We are finding so much life given to us in this meditation time. My hope is that others will join us even if they can't make it on Wednesdays by looking at the scriptures and spending time asking the Lord to reveal insights to them as well!
