When some friends of a paralytic man heard that Jesus was IN THE HOUSE, they did everything they could to get their friend into his presence. They even took off the roof of a house and lowered him in on a mat, most likely strung up with ropes of some sort. All this after fighting their way through a standing room only crowd that flooded out of that house Jesus occupied. The friends did this for two reasons. One, they had a great love for their friend. Two, they knew that only Jesus could heal him. In the House Ministries exists for two reasons. One, we love the city of Portland. Two, we know that only Jesus can heal this land.

In the House Ministries exists to train, encourage and equip the body of Christ in the areas of prayer, worship, evangelism, prophetic, ministry to the poor, spiritual warfare and the creative arts. The Downtown House of Prayer is established to provide 24/7 worship and prayer for the city of Portland, Oregon. This blog is just for fun, but perhaps over time it will provide some insight and stimulate discussion surrounding the above areas.

Faith
the substance of things hoped for
the certainty of that which is not seen
faith is an interesting word. a challenging concept. it also seems to be the one thing God asks of us over and over. regardless of the results of this faith, it appears to matter to Him that we have it.
sometimes our faith bears fruit quickly. sometimes our faith makes life more like a roller coaster that we did not choose to get on. usually our faith is stretched beyond a limit that we did not know existed.
still God keeps calling us to faith.
read Hebrews 11. now there is some encouragement. especially the end of the chapter. perhaps we will all be sawed in two.
